Hello, I have a Schwinn Voyageur 11.8 which was given to me and I am wondering if I can find out what model year it is. It has a chrome frame and is not a triple. If you have any idea when this bike is from or any idea how I can find out please respond. Thanks-Dave

The Voyageur 11.8 is an early to middle 80's bike.
Try the Schwinn Lightweight Data Book for links etc... The site itself only covers up to 1979, so won't include your bike, but there are other sites he links to.
The maintainer of the site, and several other people that know Schwinn (and other) lightweights hang out over at bikeforums.net in the Classic & Vintage forum.
Look under Links for more sites that could be useful. There is even a site that has many Schwinn catalogs scanned for online viewing (Tom Findley's site).
Also, one of the standard ways to identify a bike if the components are original is by date codes on the components. One good site for helping you with component date codes is vintage-trek.comvintage-trek.comOpen ↗
