I bought a Proform TDF that has a built in power meter. THis is my first experience with power meters. What should I be looking for to help with my cycling? I'm not a great rider so this is really a beginner question. Is there a certain number i'm looking at keeping. Have people found that the power meter on the TDF is accurate?

Well the go to thread is "its killing me" on the training sub forum to get a start. There is a lot of information to sift through in the many pages. There is the "Racing & Training with a Powermeter" book. There are a lot of websites and discussions. It is just best to dig in and start reading and asking questions. You can lurk on the "are we there yet" thread and feel free to discuss there as well, but in time you will see some common thoughts.
Same goes with the question of the PM on the Proform TDF. Even if it is not as accurate as other equipment as long as it is consistent with itself you can follow trends. Tyson on the "its killing me" thread was using a gym bike that measured power. The bike was good enough for him to consider the trend of improvement. So as you start to use your Proform bike for intervals the question will be do you see an improving trend over the weeks and months.
There is really too much to really school you on the subject. I started on this journey a couple years ago and I still have a lot to learn in this school.
Best wishes
