Are you sure that you are type I? I wouldn't believe that Actos would help a type I. Also, in the
last PDR I looked at, Actor was not reccommended for those taking insulin. It would be worth going
to www.actos.com and downloading the full prescribing info to at least inform yourself as to what
the latest info from the mfr. is. I would certainly not _change_ what you are doing without talking
to your doctor. I am not qualified to give you or anyone medical advice, but sometimes, it is well
to tell your doc that you have doubts and want a second opinion. If the doc resists the idea of a
second opinion, you definitely need different doc.

Here in the UK, 1,400,000 dxed diabetics, 550,000 using insulin, and of those on insulin t1s are
140,000. These are approx figures from April, 2002. Most t2 use much bigger doses then most t1. In
my own town, there is a t2 who needs such a huge dose that she has to take U500 instead of U100,
otherwise she would be sticking with hersel with half a pint daily.

So the number of patients doesn`t look like 90%, but the amount used could well be higher.
