  1. All:

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

With the exploding interest in low-carb diets a couple of years ago, a
lot of unhealthy [censored] flooded the market -- along with a significant
number of low-Calorie, nutritious (or at least harmless), tasty goodies.
Unfortunately, the craze phase is wearing off, and the initial dogpile
of companies trying to cash in on it is slowly beeing weeded down to a
very few. Even Atkins Nutritionals is digging out of bankruptcy.

I am really, REALLY sick of these LC products becoming unavailable,
either because their manufacturers are going out of business or because
they aren't selling in a local store and are pulled, becoming
unavailable except in obscure specialty stores and over the internet.
These are the latest potential casualty.

TJs has carried several different brands to date: they had La Tortilla
Factory for a while, then their own house brand at 90 Calories a crack,
and now a new, remarkable, 50 Calorie version. These are IMO the best
out there: no hydrogenated vegetable oil, remarkably low-calorie, and I
have confdence in the nutrition info because TJ's is not a fly-by-night
operation like many of the low-carb diet food suppliers.

They're dirt cheap, low-Calorie, tasty, and low carb. I use them to make
my CRed, Zoned pizzas; April uses them to make qasedillas; I'm sure they
could actually be used to make wraps 😉.

Today, a TJ's sales associate told April (God's Eden Herself!) that
they may be phasing them out!

I should really have recommended that folks give these atry a while ago
.... and now is a great opportunity to give 'em a try 🙂 . I give them my
honest endorsement (no, I have no stake in TJs or any of their suppliers
-- I just want them to keep carrying the product), and if you want a
replacement for sandwich bread or for more conventional pita or tortilla
uses, these fit the bill nicely.

If folks would consider going to a local store and buying some as an
experiment, you might discover a new CR-friendly food of use, and the
spike in sales might convince them to keep them on; alternatively,
contacting local stores to complain would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Love is the law, love under will.
