    1/2 cup sugar
    1 cup water
1 medium orange, sliced 1/4" thick
    1 lemon, sliced 1/4" thick
    1 lime, sliced 1/4" thick
    1/4 cup brandy
1 bottle red wine, chilled (750 ml)
    1/2 tray ice cubes

In medium pan, combine sugar and water; bring to boiling and cook 1
    minute.
Remove from heat; add orange, lemon and lime. Cover and let stand at least
    4
hours or overnight. In large pitcher, combine sugar syrup and fruit slices
with brandy and wine. Just before serving, add ice cubes. Makes 2 quarts.

Note: To make a lighter, punch type drink, add 1 bottle (1 liter) club
