Hi,
I'll be visiting San Francisco in mid-August, and I was wondering if there's anybody that can
suggest to me a good way of getting a triathlon orientation for the city.
I began training for triathlons about six months ago with the intention of doing one of the Alcatraz
tris. I've done one sprint, and will probably do an Olympic distance in a few weeks from now. I've
got my heart on doing an Alcatraz tri next year, in 2004.
When I arrive in San Francisco this August, it will probably be my only time in the city before the
big race in June 2004. I'd like to take advantage of this little visit and get a feel for the
terrain, a look at the lay of the land -- maybe go over some of the course.
Does anyone know if there's a way I can get to swim in the bay, ride the hills or run some of the
trails? I suppose I could get a map of this year's course and do it myself. But it sure would be
cool to meet some people too. Are there any organizations, training runs, etc. I could join for a
quick visit?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
