We're so sorry to hear of his passing. Sam was known as the
"Brooklyn Flash" and his trademark was his incredible spin.
Sam won numerous New York State Match Sprint titles, was
second in the 1966 National Sprint Championship (won by Jack
Disney) and was Maccabiah Games Champion.

I watched Sam compete at the Kissena Velodrome and as a
junior had the opportunity to train and race with him. Sam
used a standard heavy duty english frame and heavy Clement
Elvesia training tires. His standard gear was 88 inches in
which he turned some brillant times (low 11's) even at
Kissena. He would show up to workouts riding to the
velodrome on his track bike and wheels strapped to his
back. Later he used a motor cycle and carried his bike
around his shoulder!

I learned alot from Sam and often his name would come up in
conversations about the "Good Old Days". I'm sorry to hear
of his passing.
