Anybody have experience using salt systems in their pool?

I know that it stings when you have a small woond!!

In the neighboorhood we have one (25m) pool that I know of that uses salt (It's always clean), but
about the technique I don't know anything about.

Dunno about salt; our local pool uses Bromine. Have you thought about that, perhaps?

I'm assuming you are talking about a salt water system that uses the NaCl as a source for chlorine
rather than a true sea water pool ( I swam in the Casino pool in Ft Lauderdale that was a real
"sea water" pool back in the 60's. This pool was replaced by the Swimming Hall of Fame Pool in the
late 60's.)

I took a swim in a local Y that had the NaCl system since I have a problem with chlorine sensitivity
and was trying to find a cure by switching pools. The water tasted like tears but still and had
chlorine levels less than the local public pool. It didn't help my particular problem. My
understanding is that the pool equipment has to be Stainless Steel and there is some special
equipment to make the free chlorine for the disinfecting. It supposedly is less harsh but still has
chlorine to do the work.
