To anyone who is interested or concerned, the Motherisk
(www.motherisk.org) is a Teratology Information Service which provides
evidence-based information about the safety or risk of drugs,
chemicals and disease during pregnancy and lactation. We are
currently conducting a study to investigate the effects of St. John's
Wort in pregnancy. If you would like to participate it would involve
an initial telephone interview during your pregnancy and then another
phone call within 6 months after your due date. Healthy women who are
not exposed to any medications for chronic conditions and not exposed
to any drugs or chemicals known to cause birth defects, may qualify as
controls and can participate also. If you are currently pregnant and
are exposed to St. John's Wort and would like to participate in the
