I started using a cut out saddle on the advice of my doctor. I never had numbness, but I mentioned to him that I was a cyclist and he suggested the cut out saddle just to be safe. If you get numbness, you should first consult your doctor(might not be a cycling problem), then your LBS and have the seat adjustment checked, and then look into new saddles.

  3. I also use a cut out saddle suggested form all the cyclist at my local bike shop as well as my Dr. who also happens to be a cyclist. I used the selle italia max flite for a bit but I am currently selling it as it does nothing but make my rear end scream. BUT keep in mind that this has nothing to do with the quality of the saddle. I ordered my Cobb cycling saddle which has the reputation to be VERY comfortable with an unheard of 6 month comfort guarantee...dont like it..return it no questions asked. nothing to loose. In fact its so well enginered that Mr. Lance armstrong is currently using it if I'm not mistaken.

    Check it out.....
