Hi,
I'm a recreational cyclist, cycle a few times in summer to keep fit for football (soccer) and then winter it was just usually a commute to school every so often when I missed the bus.
Now I'm a university student and I commute the 2 and a half miles to uni and then the same back again everyday.
Since I got my bike, a Saracen Ventoux, the saddle a "Selle Italia" I have found has been uncomfortable. I got the bike last year and I really haven't thought much of it as the sores would go down about 2-3 days and usually I'd cycle 2 or 3 times a week so the sores wouldn't bother me. I also had the idea I would get used to the sores, or the saddle would become used to my rear and not cause me any problems.
Since I've been getting on the bike daily now however for just over 2 weeks I think especially with the cycling I've done over the past year the saddle would be ok for me but sadly no! It kills so some days I have to do the ride standing up!
Any suggestions on a cheap saddle for a student, that would be comfy. I did have a Marin Hawk Hill with a comfy saddle but I think that a mountain bike saddle on a racer wouldn't look the best, but if there is no other solution looks like that might be the way forward!
Thanks for any responses given!
