South Korea's recreation and gambling industry saw consumer spending drop 9.6 per cent last year to 4.87 trillion won (US$;4.66 billion) due to tough economic conditions. KOREA LEISURE INDUSTRY CONSULTING said the combined net revenues from casino, lottery, bicycle racing, motor boating and horse racing operations dropped for the first time since the Asian financial crisis in 1998.
