I saw this guy race last week in the USA XC Championships, he won the
12K @34:38. A week later he's racing in the World's Best 10K in San
Juan @ 29:25 (Kenyans took the top 10 places (men), Ryan took a very
very respectable13th place).
Keep in mind, the USA 15K Championships (previously owned by Meb but
Shay's the current champ) are in 13 days...at first I did not think so
but heck, Ryan Hall might just show up. I am sure Asics wants him
there not to mention the prize money. That would make 3 middle
distance Races in 20 days. The only time I've ever seen anything like
this is with the Olympics...however there's no travel days there.
Note Ryan was the only elite American yesterday in Puerto Rico. I
figure they surrendered the event to the Kenyans and are training for
the 15K. If Ryan Hall shows up for the 15K, he's my new favorite
runner. Ya gotta love a race rat.
