I have had my Bolle's for about a month and love'em. The are progressive bi-focals.

Do Bolle still use the "prescription insert"? I have two pair of Bolle with the insert, but never got the vision quite right so I quit wearing them. Perhaps the lenses just are aligned properly to accomodate my astigmatism; took them back to be adjusted (heated and bent the plastic) and that helped a good bit, but obviously the range of adjustment is limited as they have to snap inside the mainframe.

My favorite cycling sunglasses are 40 year old Ray-Ban aviator style wire frames, with the wire wraparound ear pieces and updated polarized prescription lenses. They seem to give adequate coverage, and great vision. A plus is that the frames were made with heavy gold plating so corrosion isn't an issue like it's been on two newer pairs of wire-rims that I've thrown away.

Long answer, but anyway, based on my (limited) experience, I'd go with a single-lense solution rather than an insert set up.

It took a little time to get used to them since they are a wrap around style. But don't ride with out them. As far as the insert not sure.
