  1. Anybody have any routes they'd like to share with me? I'm starting
from N Harbor Drive, and I'm looking for about 7 or 8 miles. Also,
what are some good running stores in the city close to downtown?
    Thanks.

  2. There some nice beach areas to run on.
The best is by La Jolla / Trorey Pines, but that
area is difficult to get to using public transportation.
Closer to downtwon, you find dirt trails and greenery
in the Balboa Park - Zoo - Museum park area.

And Rick hiding in the bushes by the playground LOL

  4. Starting from N. Harbor Dr, you can make a nice loop running towards
Seaport Village, past the cruise ship terminal, etc. Heading west from
NHD, you can get into Pt Loma, and run up to the Pt Loma Lighthouse,
just be aware that's it's a descent uphill to get there.

    Two other options:

    1. Run through downtown to Balboa Park, say 6th & I-5, and then
run through or around the park. There are lots of other runners there.

    2. Take the passenger ferry over to Coronado. Follow the sidewalk
south along the bay, go under the bridge, and continue along the
edge of the golf course. At the other side of the golf course a paved
trail picks up again for another 10 miles. Turn around when you want
to. Or running around the edge of Coronado will give your about 6 miles.

There are lots of other choices if you're willing to start elsewhere:

    1. The eastern half of Mission Bay is about 8 miles around. Some on
    city sidewalks, mostly not.
