Even though I injured myself and can't run Boston my wife still is. I was going to break a few rules to see her along the course what do you think of this?
I was planning on running the first 6 miles, dropping out, then take the Framingham train to Newtonville. Once in Newton I will wait for my wife and run the remaining 5 miles with her, dropping out just before the finish line. I will turn in my chip and alert the officials at the end of the race that I am dropping out.

why even bother with the chip? you're not in it for the time. even if you wanted to time yourself, you can just use your wife's time since you will be running with her.
i'm guessing you still plan to use your bib. in that case, you shouldn't have any problems with officials either.
the only place where i can think of that you might have some trouble is when you jump back into the race. if there's an official around, you could talk to him/her beforehand. if not, you could just wait around with a water bottle in your hand. then, when you see your wife, jump in with the water bottle, give her a pat on the back and keep running with her as if you're just supporting her.

I doubt a race official is going to say anything as long as you have a number. Heck, Boston has a rich history of bandits running so I doubt someone would say anything unless you were interfering with a race leader.
I think you are a lieing sack of [censored], and will change your mind at the last minute and pretend to finish.
