  1. Well, here in the inland Pacific Northwest, we had a
    loooong, industrial strength winter.

So when I resumed my annual duties of leading a friendly
Wednesday early morning group ride, I knew it would hurt.
Our trails are all steep, and usually sandy. It's hard to
find anything to ride to ease back into the saddle.

Two weeks ago I was the only one who showed up. So I rode.
    How profound.

Last week one other guy showed up, so we rode as easily as
we reasonably could, since it was his first ride of the
    year. He wanted to die.

Today, two showed up and we rode for fun and technical
skills, since one guy is a downhiller, and wanted to
practice jumps rather than climb hills. OK by me.

I hope it's just the loooong winter that makes the trails so
tough right now, and not the fact that I'm not getting any
    younger. But who is??

Next week we're spozed to be back up to 5 or 6 troopers on
    the early sunrise ride.

We'll see. At least the coffee was good. We sat outside next
to these gas heaters. That's all. Quite exciting, eh?

Paladin real men don't buy upgrades, and sometimes they
    don't ride up grades, either.

A hiatus will definitely exemplify the meaning of "rust
    never sleeps"..

    Nice quote and nice RR.

Peace, Bill The mind serves properly as a window glass
rather than as a reflector, that is, the mind should give an
immediate view instead of an interpretation of the world.
