Yeah they do. Why? Because they are so fun they make me
want to ride and ride, and I just don't have enough time or
energy.
I hit the hills yesterday on the Surly and it was more fun
than I've had on a bike in a long long time. Why did I wait
so long to get out the SS? The stairs this Winter have paid
off and I was hookin' up.
Not to mention that there were singlespeeders all over the
place, whoopin' and hollerin', cheering each other on,
understanding that One is the only number. The disease is
growing.
Of course, like Nexus, there were the folks, "Why would you
ride a bike like that?" Just try it sometime brother...
I don't think about the bike, I ride. While you are
squeakin' and chain-slappin' down the hill I just hear the
Zen buzz of the ACS claw freewheel.
And the most important reason, and get this now...
*I ride it because I like it*
That's really it. If efficiency was the goal I'd have a
YZ450F, however efficiency is not the goal, happiness is.
