It was probably already cracked part way through and
something just finished it off. If you look at the exposed
surfaces, there might be a dark part and a light part -
the dark part is what was already cracked (dark from

Didn't know Campy stuff was breakable.

Why would you think that stuff was unbreakable? They don't do anything

The key difference here, which you seem to be missing, is that JD didn't
really trumpet the virtues of his Y-bike before it broke like you did with
your Jamis.

Stupid is correct in his explanation in the difference between
chromoly
and aluminum. The Moab 2 is a most excellent mid-range bike and is
priced very competetively. The bike shop where I test rode it is
willing to let me have one for $650 because they know that I ride all
of
the time and their product will be seen being used to the utmost.
It's
kind of like paying for advertising. I still may go for it just to
have
another back-up bike. At that price I'd be pretty foolish not to.

replaced under warranty), I still think that the Y ride is a
damn good one for the money and I intend to ride it until it
