Well, there's this mostly unwritten rule that this vast network of trails
just 30 mins from downtown is spozed to be kept secret. Some guys are
really serious about it. I'd ridden some of it by accident out exploring
one Saturday, and one little trail by design (with the Freak and my son
several years back. Boy, the views of 2 mtn ranges was amazing, btw).
Here's a joke: One of the more famous trails is a 14 mi downhill
singletrack that crosses through 2 or 3 temperate zones, that I heard about
for the 1st time in *Bike Magazine* a few years ago. Can you believe it?
But last night my bike shop owner pal took me up on a more organized
introduction. Barely hit the tip of the iceberg. I have a few pics toward
the bottom of this thread, with a few more to come, but it was amazing!

End of the ride, we pulled out my signature cooler and rehydrated in style.
I kept my consumption down as the designated driver. Companion must have
been the designated drinker, by the time we pulled into the happy hacienda,
the cooler was empty. O well, a small price to pay....
