My cycle in on a Monday morning is all on road but it does cross the C2C
track between Waskerley and Rowley (A68). Yesterday I noticed that the
section towards Waskerley was closed. There was a fence across the
entire path with a ROAD CLOSED sign up. I have noticed new surfaces
appearing on a few cycle routes in Co Durham and I assume that is what
is happening here. It did make me wonder though whether there was any
procedure for sign-posting detours. There were certainly no detour signs
at the point where my route met the track and depending on where the
closure extends to would limit opportunities for finding easy alternatives.
Beware if you are planning the C2C this weekend!
