Rollers over Trainers???

  1. What would you say the advantages are in training with rollers over a trainer?

  2. Rollers will force you to work on your technique and balance because if you don't have either, you will fall over. It is a great way to make sure you ride straighter and upright. Good for training for races. The downside is that most rollers don't have resistance, so it's tough to do workouts at higher resistance since you just need to spin in a higher gear. A trainer is better for higher intensity but you don't have to balance so it's not good for improving technique.

    I agree. You will find a lot more threads if you do a search on rollers or trainers. This topic has been discussed quite a bit.

    In a perfect world, you would have both for their individual strengths.
