Do people have a preference to rollers over resistance. Are they good for different things? if you had only one which would it be? Any thooughts would be appreciated.

They are used for different things. Resistance trainers are good for doing intense sessions where resistance is needed. Rollers are good for warm ups, cool downs, pedalling drills, etc. where resistance isn't as important.
