  1. Hi,

I've seen lots of posts on benefits of rollers in the forum and whether specific models are good or not. So I've decided to get some. I'm hoping to achieve better technique on both my road and mountain bike. I'm not too concerned about cardio training because I get enough of that.

Does anyone have any information for a begineer? Does roller size matter? Shaped rollers or not? With fan/resistance? Foldable/rigid? Other things to consider?

I'm currently riding Mavic system rims with standard road tyres on my road bike and a decathalon rim with either slick or explorer tyres on the mountain bike. I don't really want to buy new kit. Is it necessary? I'm also a little on the heavy side 90kg.

    Many thanks

    Richard

  2. Size not a big issue. Shape (ie parabollic??) means its easier to stay on - but doesn't that defeat the purpose? Fan resistance or some type of variable resistance is good. I have Minoura MagRoller with a mag unit for resistance. Excellent ride.
