  1. Here’s the deal: I had a Vector Comp rear wheel that took a nasty lick (don’t ask) and the rim was damaged beyond repair. Hub is fine though. I got a great deal on a never-used Vector (not Comp or Pro) wheel on eBay.

    My questions are:
    1) What is the real difference between the Vector and the Vector Comp?
    2) The hub on the Vector doesn’t spin up as well as the one on the Vector Comp. Can the sealed cartridge bearings be changed out between wheels?
    3) The guy at the lbs said because the Vector was virtually new, I needed to break it in. How many miles does it take to break in a wheel?

  2. I belive that what was originally called the Vector was later called the Vector Pro. If the wheel has a 30mm aero rim and 16 spokes, it's a Pro.

If it's brand new, it might need some riding to loosen up. I've never heard of breaking in the bearings on a wheel. Just ride it.
