If you're riding in a bunch, there are a few more conventions:

I would warn riders that you need to slow down by holding my hand palm down to the ground in a sort of 'calm down' gesture;

warn riders of upcoming holes or other low obstacles by pointing down with the arm on the side of the obstacle;

for a cattle grid or raised cable across the road I would point down but wave the arm sideways as if along the line of the obstacle;

for an upcoming high obstacle, like a parked car or a (much slower) cyclist then I would make a waving gesture with my hand behind my back to indicate 'move over quickly'.

to indicate that you want the rider behind to come past it's normal to push out your elbow, or you could make a waving gesture (as if pushing the rider past) if you want to be a bit more sarcastic about it (as if to say 'get a move on!'😉 Making circles with your hand pointing downward indicates that you want the group to start riding 'through and off'.

There are a few verbal conventions as well: 'car up' indicates that there's a car waiting behind and you want to single out to let it pass; it's usual for the front rider to yell 'ok' or 'clear' once they've spotted that a junction is clear enough for the group not to have to stop. In a race, I would expect a rider in front to shout 'car' if one was coming to warn others not to swing out to overtake.
