hi everyone i am new to biking. I used to mess around but nothing serious recently however i was given three road bikes a galaxy II par excelence 10 speed with sunrace shifters 26", a schwinn caliente with sis shimano shifter and derailer 27", and a ross 10 speed with shimano rs shifters also 27". the real question i have is does anyone know anything about any of these like how much a used one would sell for aproximately in really nice condition, these are all womens road bikes and i would like to get a road bike of my own to fit me. I am 6'2 or 3 and i weight 170 lbs, right now i ride my diamondback mtn bike to school 20 minutes and i am looking for something faster. i average 18 mph on the trip and i max out at 23mph. any suggestions on where to start, what to look for, what to avoid in terms of moving up. i would be buying used and budget is 150 dollars or so unless the bikes above sell

I would say that you might get $25 a piece for each of the bikes you are wanting to sell. The bikes sound old and even the bottom of the barrell components on current bikes are miles ahead of what is on those bikes. Probably why they were given to you.
As far as getting a bike for $150 . . . . . . . The decent entry level bikes today start out at around $650 (Giant OCR3) and I doubt you'd be able to pick up a used one, that is able to be ridden, for less than $300 or $400. So, I would say you're going to have to wait and save to get something you can actually ride.
