Heh. There's something like that near where I live: a cycle track splits off from the main road, goes onto the footpath, behind a bus shelter and rejoins the main road about 12 metres further on.
Sadly I don't have a picture of this particular instance of Highways Agency genius.

LOL. In Spain (Gerona IIRC) I once saw a block of flats with projecting balconies built /around/ a telegraph pole - No.6a could get a free 450v (or whatever) power supply.
Oh good grief!! It would be funny if it wasn't so damned ridiculous that these cycling farcilities ever get past the stage where they are on a drawing... Whoever designed that should be put up against a wall and shot. Did I ever send you the jpg of NCN 13 near me, complete with bollards???
