I've got a Ritchey WCS front hub that's a few years old, with several thousand miles of use. It has started to develop play such that, even when the wheel is very firmly clamped in the fork, the rim can move freely maybe 5-6mm laterally. These hubs are pretty cheap, with sealed bearings pressed into an alloy shell, is there any way to correct the wobble? Can I do something simple like replace the bearings and get another season or two of use, or is the issue in the shell itself and thus the whole thing is junk?
The sealed bearings are easy to replace for anyone used to press fits. For built wheels I use a kit Hugi sold years ago. Unlaced hubs need only a press. Creative use of 5mm allthread and sockets and washers in a pinch. Tom

My experience with various sealed bearing hubs is that they develop play like this at some point and replacing the bearings takes care of it.
