  1. Hoping someone has experience with these goers. What advantage if any does a rim trainer have over an ordinary magnetic or hydaulic trainer that is driven off the tyre. I will be using a road bike with smooth tyres so tyre tread is not an issue. Looking at this minoura.co.jpvfsg.htm and this minoura.co.jpepm e.htm Thanks, Chris.

  2. I believe rim trainers were invented to suit MTB's, where the tires are not suitable for the direct contact of a normal trainer.

  3. Looks like it would eliminate tire wear, but might wear the rim.
