Hi, I have never changed my tires before, but now I want some color and have been looking at the Michelin Pro2 Races....BUT I just realized that I have 26C tires, which I guess means that's the size of my rims? I don't know what size my rims are, I couldn't find anything about size written on them. ANYWAY, I am only finding size 23C and 20C for these tires and my question is....would these fit? Well, the 23s I mean, I know the 20s would definitely be too small. But if I want these tires do I have to get completely new rims? Or...do they even make this tire in my rim size and I am just not finding it (I've been looking on ebay...much cheaper)? PLEASE HELP!

Here is a link that gives a lot of detail about tire sizings in all their bizarre glory:

Are you are referring to a 700x26c tire (can also be identified as ETRTO 26-622)?

Individual rims have different practical limitations. Most narrow "road" clincher 700C (622mm ETRTO bead diameter) will easily work over a fairly wide range of tire widths (e.g 19mm to 28mm). Frame clearance may be a different issue at the high end. As an example Mavic Open Pro rims come in 700C or 650C diameter specification and have 19.6mm external cross section and are recommended for 19-28mm tire applications. By contrast Mavic's wider A719 rim has an 24.6 external width and is recommended for everything from 28mm to 50mm tires.

Inner rim width specifications are typically considerably smaller (e.g 13-16mm for a typical narrow roadie ) a chart of them with tire widths is located in the Sheldon Brown article. As he states it errs on the conservative side.

I asssume, like the others, it is a road bike, so, as long as the other number is 622 or 700, just buy a 23c tyre.

Michie Pro2 Race 700x23c or Conti GP4000 700x23c, etc...
