tell me if I'm wrong but brakes that are not adjusted well may cause some bending because tell will put unequal side pressure on it and in time it may damage the rim

depends how many sets of stairs you go down in a day.....
wheels shouldnt bend doing your everyday riding. In most cases the sidewall will go or you will ping spokes before the rim bends.
