Afternoon All,
While I was out riding yesterday, I got a flat in my rear tire (Kenda 22 mm). I looked over the tire and there is a slash in it where the rubber meets the road. Maybe if took the first inch of a knife and stuck it in. Though it did not penetrate the kevlar lining...so just the rubber is slashed. Can I still ride on this or will it cause problems for me?

I have had a similar situation and used the tire for a while. I guess the question you want to ask ,how comfortable do I feel having a blow out on a 40 mph decent?
You can try to glue it shut. This will do for a temporary repair. But as Jhuskey just posted a blowout at 40MPH is very dangerous. Remember that your tires are very important. Your safety is relying on thier performance. If it was me I would chuck them as soon as I got home. Also if you did get a flat your Kevlar lining was penetrated.
I have used such a tire for a few slow rides home, but ultimately wouldn't trust it. I just end up feeling too unsafe, especially for the cost of a new tire.
