  1. Fractured pelvis in two places four weeks ago. Want to get back onto bike asap. Has anyone experience of how soon road biking can be resumed after pelvic fractures?

  2. Well, I fractured my pelvis in 5 places in 2012 and laid in bed for pretty much 5 solid weeks. At the end of the 5 week period I hobbled out to the garage on my crutches and got on my tadpole trike that I use for winter riding and began riding very slowly. It was kind of interesting that I could only walk with crutches and even that was painful, but I could ride pain free. I rode everyday for the next couple months slowly increasing my time and distances. Another thing that helped me was swimming and pool walking. As they say, every body is different and YMMV. 🙂

  3. While I'm no doctor so with any questions on here regarding riding after or during an injury, I really would stick to the advice of your doctor or physio and let them decide when your fit to ride again.

I know it can be frustrating not riding, but starting back too soon could in the end result in a longer layoff than you'd need originally if you aggravated the injury.
