The wagering alone on just the spring derby races probably eclipses all the money passed around by all teams in an entire cycling season.

At least cycling (or any sport for that matter) can always look down on horse racing as the dirtiest sport there is. These horses for all practical purposes are galloping pharmacies, which, after a successful season, are converted into sperm donors (and no, I don't know what they do with horses which develop testicular cancer).

They send them to Palm Beach, Florida, turn them into Polo horses, and then feed them some extra selenium.
