Spent my day off on Wednesday cycling from Callander to Balquhidder along
the NCN 7 track.
Left Callander at 11am. Just outside Callander I came across a group
of ramblers, one of whom replied to my tinging of bicycle bell and
friendly "Excuse me!" with an enthusiastic "A boy with a bell on his bike!
Good for you!".
Arrived at Balquhidder after 1pm, stopping along the route to take some
photos.
Popped into The Library Tearoom at Balquhidder for a bite to eat (huge mug
of hot chocolate + huge slice of fruit cake), and then made my way back to
Callander, again stopping now and then to take a few photos.
Arrived back at the Riverside carpark in Callander just after 4pm. The
Riverside carpark was nearly *in* the river as Garbh Uisge river was very
very swollen - the ducks and swans liked it though as they could get nice
and close to the people throwing bread!
Was a nice day for the trip, although a bit windy.
First time out using the ortlieb rear roller pannier, although it wasn't
raining the pannier got very very muddy from spray from the back wheel.
Was also pleased to see that my rack extension brackets held up well.

Also stopped off on the way back home to take a few pictures of Sir David
Stirling monument.
Good news is I have a weeks holiday starting from the 2nd of October, so
I'm planning on doing a lot more cycling in the Callander and surrounding
area.
