This coming weekend I'm doing a back-to-back century, the STP, with my daughter Rose.
The next weekend, I begin a week-long tour of the Canadian Rockies, during which I will be doing a fair bit of elevation gain/loss, and relatively long (60 - 100) mile days.
How much riding do you think I should do between these two? I know I'm not riding on the Monday and Tuesday after STP, as the bike is going into the shop for a once-over, but you think a spot of commuting (10 - 30 miles) Wednesday - Friday would be OK?

Have fun. I would be busy being green with envy, except my elder daughter is having her tonsils out Friday. I predict a long horrible weekend for everyone involved (especially Aixi).

I would probably skip Friday. You should have at least one rest day under your belt first.

Or maybe do the shortest park and ride version, I at least wouldn't do the 30 mile roundtrip full commute.

congrats on your successful STP - good ride and report. I was planning to do it - but the logistics didn't work out well (IOW, was just lazy 😉
regd. the riding between STP and your tour, I would suggest that one or two short spin rides. I have found that to have worked for me. may be you could covert you commute to one that concentrates on spinning...
