Hi
This post is to make the forum members aware of the problems that could potentially occur with buying items from Ribble Cycles on-line, I purchased 3 Continetal tires from them 6 weeks ago and they haven't arrived here in Australia. The items were supposedly sent by Royal Mail Air Mail.
They have not been able to supply a tracking number and now have ceased responding to any of the numerous e-mail I sent, their customer service is non existent. I actually suspect that the items (nearly GBP 100 worth) were never sent in the first place. The items were puchased on a credit card that does not have purchase insurance.
I have also other issues with them before where they have sent items different to what there showing on the website (eg. last year model instead of the latest) , knowing full well that returning them from Australia is out of the question from a cost point of
I would not recommend Ribble at all to all forum members unless you can actually go into their shop. They appear to be unethical traders, especially in dealing with overseas orders. In hindsight the cheapest is not always the safest bet.
So the the advice is not to deal on-line with Ribble, I've done it several times with unsatisfactory outcomes each time and secondly always demand a postage method which offers parcel tracking. I stupidly assumed that Ribble holding themselves out to be a professional organisation would arrange that for me, especially seeing the postage was about GBP 20.00.
For me best companies for on-line purchases are Total Cycling in Ireland
and GB Cycles in the U.K ,
With GB I ordered a pair of shoes from them on the thursday before easter and they arrived on the Tuesday after from the U.K to Australia, now that is what I call customer service and I was kept fully aware by e-mail all the time.
Regards
Ken
