Okay, so I've now given up fluoride, at least in my
toothpaste. I've got some toothpaste from a company called
Burt's Bees which actually I like better than any other
toothpaste I've tried. I figure that's a start, but I wonder
if the damage has been done. I wonder if after even a few
years I'll see an improvement in my teeth. I'm not saying
they're gross looking, but despite years of regular and
"correct" brushing, they're still darkening and I've begun
to see little hairline cracks in my two front teeth.
What about you guys who have given up fluoridated
toothpaste? Have you seen any improvements over time?
Some sites would have us believe that the darkening and
yellowing of teeth is a natural process we go through as we
age. I think not. I don't see how that can be. Maybe people
only think it's normal because all of us certainly get our
fair share of fluoride!
Well, the toothpaste I now use contains clay and chalk as
the mild abrasives, but it has a lavender mint flavor to it.
One fringe benefit is that it rinses out of my brush a whole
lot easier than regular toothpaste. It also has no sodium
lauryl sulfate, which is also a plus.
I know there's plenty of other fluoride to be found in the
world. One of the main things I'm going to have to work on
is my consumption of Coke. I like distilled water, but
sometimes nothing satisfies like a Coke. I must shake it
because I know Coke isn't exactly good for us.
Thanks, Damaeus
