  1. Just guys,

Just wondering on what people ride at between doind interval sessions?

Went out yesterday and did my first 2x20 min. After doin alot of base training over the last 2 months it was different trying to hold a power at a higher level.

Held it fine but was wondering on what to ride at inbetween. My FTP is about 290 - rode at around 255-265 for th session and was aiming for around 120-210 in the breaks?

  2. When doing a 2x20 L4 session I usually drop down to L1 for a bit then ride most of the rest interval in L2 before starting the second effort. The rest intensity isn't too critical as long as you have the focus and energy to ride a good second interval.

Basically the only reason to break 40 minutes of sub FTP Threshold work into a 2x20 is either because you don't have enough road for a full 40 minutes or the short break helps you refocus for the second effort. By definition you shouldn't need any breaks at all to do 40 straight minutes at 90% to 95% or more of FTP so the breaks are for mental reasons as much as anything and as long as you back off enough to mentally recharge you should be fine.

  3. Yeah road around here is the big thing.

It can be done but your going to end up having so many corners and none of it's flat.
