Medicine is a humanitarian field, but it is certainly not
immune from shady characters and politics, especially in
matters of resident training. Resident physicians can work
for change, but are in a very vulnerable position, as
retaliation and harassment by a program is very much a
reality. It is sad, but true, that one bad word can ruin a
career. What options are available to a medical resident to
protect themselves from retaliation, defamation and
harassment by a training program?
