I'm hoping that loooooong odds might pay off and I'll
find someone who knows the cookies I'm talking about &
have the recipe. (Thats why I put all the location
keywords in this message).
Back in the late '60s through the '70s, maybe even into the
early '80s, there was a bakery in Dayton, Ohio on Col. Glenn
Highway near Page Manor & WPAFB that made my favorite
cookie. Whenever I was home visiting, I'd stop by and ask
for the recipe, but they always said no. Went back later and
as I feared, the bakery was gone.
The cookie was a "log" style, with a center that appeared
like a good brownie, that after it'd been baked, was
smushed until it was dense, and then had a flaky white dry-
ish white cookie exterior around it. Looked like it was
rolled up, then cut off in sections. (I'm not saying that's
how it was made, I have no clue, that's just how it
appeared - it's lots better tasting than it sounds from my
description). IIRC, it might have had a coarse sugar
sprinkle on the outside.
So, anyone else remember these? Maybe had a sister or
something who worked there and knows the recipe?

I am looking for a recipe for Mexican Spinich dip. My
husband and I had a favorite mexican restraunt where we use
to get the most fabulous spinich dip...it was a creamy white
cheese with a little spice and spinich...Our restraunt went
out of business and now I am trying to find a recipe for the
dip. I have tried all kinds of cheese and can't get any to
