Does anyone have an old/traditional recipe for kettle cake?
I've found evidence of the existence of a food by this name
in _Adam Bede_, by George Eliot, but I don't know where to
get any more information. If nobody has a recipe to share, I
could try to find some 19th century British cookbooks and go
hunting through them, but that method could take a lot of
time with no certainty of success.

I want to know because "kettle cake" is the most likely
cognate that I've found for the cauldron cakes in the Harry
    Potter stories.
