  1. I'm going to be on longer term antibiotic treatment known for its adverse
affects on intestinal flora and wanted to supplement with an appropriate
mix of probiotics. There seems to be a wide range of different strains and
claims associated with probiotics. Any reasonable recommendations?

An easy one to get and the one I use is a product called "PB-8".
    It's an 8 organism balanced mix. :-)
You should be able to find it in the refrigerated section of most good
health food stores, or on the shelf. Unlike some, it really does not
have to be kept cold but some stores put it there just so it's with the
rest of them and easy to find.

Live culture yogurt is ok, but IMHO it's not balanced.
I'd eat it anyway, but supplement with multi-flora capsules.

    Good luck!

Be sure to keep up with vitamins too to boost your immune system. Long
term antibiotic use really tends to enhance fungal infections.
