I live in and commute through Washington DC daily, and lock my bike on the street outside my building. Safe enough for the bike, but I'm wary of leaving a cyclometer attached to my bars. I've been doing a lot of research on them before to buying one, but hardly any manufacturer's specs mention whether they're easily removable.
I did a search through these forums and only came across one reference to a "twist and click" system on a Sigma, does anyone know of anything else? Or am I just dumb and all cyclometers can be easily removed?
Oh yeah, and I DO NOT intend to purchase a wireless unit.

I don't know for sure, but I believe that they all come off. I've never had a computer that did not come off easily - twist off or slide off, ever since I had one way back in the 80's. The mount of course stays on the bike, but no one ever steals them. My two cents, the Sigma computers are quite reliable, easy to use and read, have a nice mounting system and are inexpensive too.
Yup, they all come off. One beef about a Sigma I used was that it never had fractional miles on the display; ie you would either see 22 or 23 mph, but not 22.5mph. Not sure if it was just the model I got, but you may want to check it out.
