Men's running finish. Won by incredible sprint finish.

Dimitry Gaag, Bryce Quirk short course tri: time: 1:50:27

Interesting that in running there is -no- sharing the pull, lol, except
only as unintentional, from what I've heard, read. Anyone ever use this
    tactic running, though?

Incredible film angles on the swim right at the beginning. Since my Tri
days back in the 70s and 80s, quite a bit of improvement:
    1. cycling short course events allow drafting

    2. woman's winning times now would beat most male times in the Ironman (sub
    9 hour time!), iirc.

    3. Swim form seems to be a windmilling lunging type of move with the upper
body lunging out of the water at each stroke. Very aggressive swim style.
Needed since you're not swimming in a pool, btw.

    4. Big improvement in swim having athletes come out of the water and run
upon the dock so you can ID them. Major fun for the viewer. Pain and agony
    for the swimmers, I'm guessing.

    5. Peloton - women got out in a group of 5. Men, I forget. (tape in the
    mail). Probably group of 15?

    6. Bikes are all tri. LOL.
Women, skinny back wheel (disc rim, but spoked). but drop bars and tri
bars, not like TdF TT bikes in this one.
Men, I didn't get a look. Help here?

    7. Transitions: handing off the bike in Ironman distances to a crew member.
Major improement, IMO. THey still rack on the short cours. Major major
improvements in transitioning. SHoes already clipped in, pare down of gear.
Belts to hold number (pardon the typos, multitasking major, <g>😉, tri suits
abound, iow suitable for swim bike run...no switching into Tshirts and
stuff. Refinement of things like rinse spray coming out of water. In my
day, transition times were on the order of 30 seconds to a minute. Here in
short course, were talking 6 seconds.?
Women 7-9 seconds in this one.

The lapping of the group on the final run in had the front passing an
middle of the pack runner. Amazing contrast on him struggling and his form,
vs the leader and how quickly they passed him. Interesting tactic (or
missed op?) using that lapped runner as a pylon.lol.

You can almost palpate the suffering on the final sprint in to the point of
getting a cramp sitting on the couch watching it!
