  1. Is anyone familiar with the REI touring bikes. I think the road model is the novara? And they have one called the Safari that looks kind of interesting. I haven't found much information on it however. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim. 😕

  2. REI has two touring bikes, the Safari which can ride on paved and dirt roads, is alumium except for cro-moly forks, mach disc brakes this year, LX rear deralleur, trekking handle bars, and runs about $850. Road touring bike is the Randonee, All cro-moly frame, and runs about $950. I have known several people who have gone cross country with the Randonee and where very happpy with the performanece. If you want more info on the bikes, let me know.
