At least you didn't spell "recumbents" incorrectly..
Tri-Sled in Victoria are building a neat hand cranked trike which converts to a standard height manual chair quickly when you have cranked up the hill to the pub.
I rode it recently and it was quite fast until the lactic acid started building up in the arms.Some pics here:
