Recumbent Fork Life/Replacement

Unless the bike's been crashed, the fork should last forever.

Regarding the disc brake: you're probably better off getting a whole new fork- the one you have may
not take to being reheated for the brake mount. You should probably ask Longbikes- the people who
had taken over production of the Duplex and also build tandems.

I wonder if a disc brake is appropriate for the front of a tandem- I've seen tandem bicycle disc
brakes overheated and warped on quite mild descents.
