  1. I have always wanted to learn to ride a unicycle.

I am almost 40 and 6ft 230lbs. What would be a good unicycle for me to
    start with?

I need exercise and running on treadmills or thru a park just isnt me.
I see many unicycles are limited by weight. I don't want to by one and
break the pedals off the first day. I don't want to buy anything
outlandish or to classy. Something I can beat the $%^& out of till I'm
good enough or know I'm going to stick it out.

  2. If you're really cheap, get an old Schwinn from eBay. That will be cheap
and should be able to take lots of learning punishment. But it will have
its limitations, such as potential trouble finding replacement tires,
    lame seat, etc.

If you're not cheap, get something good. Start here:

Both are probably fine for your needs, with the bigger one being the
more stylish choice. You have the option of getting them with or without
the safety gear and video. Personally, I would also upgrade the seat to
a Miyata or Kris Holm model. Some people find the included Viscount seat
    comfortable, but I don't.
